Garage Break In - Report

From our Facebook Page

Another day, another burglary. This time a brute force attack on the garage door. (We had disabled the auto opener and used the physical lock.) Lost the cheap TV we got to replace the one they took last time. Nothing else taken. 2600 block of Melrose

  1. I woke up this morning around 5:15 to my dog barking. I checked around the house to find a white suburban parked behind our cars in the alley way of S. Melrose St. There was an African American man who was outside of the vehicle and it seemed he was peering into the back of our SUV. I was in my underwear so I didn't confront the man, but I called 911. They sent some police and pulled the guy over on Melrose about a half hour later. It turned out he didn't break into our cars or neighbors garages, but it seemed extremely suspicious. Dogs are awesome! -David

    1. Hi David. It is always a good idea to report suspicious activity to 911. This morning there was a homacide on S. 19th and M. Who knows if someone that is hanging out in alleys a fews blocks away, at an odd time of day may be related. Great job reporting it!!! Tim
